About Bridget Cantrell, a Uniting Creatives Writer
One of the Uniting Creatives writers, Bridget C. Cantrell, Ph.D. is committed to helping people realize their full potential. She also has a passion to assist veterans, all military personnel and their families by offering assistance with the issues they deal with after serving in the military. Dr. Cantrell travels around the globe conducting her workshops and working with our troops at military bases and various other locations to help them gain a better understanding of the challenges they face, while offering them tools to make more positive choices as they go along their journey. She also provides educational forums to the public sector to help bridge the gap that occurs between the service member, family and the community.
She is the founder of Hearts Toward Home International, a non-profit organization, which is dedicated to the Restoration and Reintegration of Trauma Survivors.

Her personal vision is to create a Veteran’s Retreat Center where veterans will be able to live, rehabilitate, heal, and tap into their strengths, in order to find their way home.
She also has a psychotherapy practice in Bellingham and Mt. Vernon, Washington where she provides counseling for veterans free of charge. She welcomes people from all walks of life who are working through a vast array of life’s issues. She is an advocate for veterans and sits on several boards on their behalf.

Yes, Katie – I agree that Bridget is a treasure. I recently interviewed her for the UnitingCreatives.com radio program and she really helped me understand the deeper impact of war on our entire culture; and how it is affecting families, our community and so much more. Just understanding that over a million warriors are coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan means that multiple millions of people will be impacted by the PTSD and combat stress effects on their families and then, in turn everyone else.
